My review of pines (wayward pines series) by blake crouch: On the surface, “pines” is the story of secret service agent ethan burke who is sent to wayward pines, a remote and stereotypical small town paradise in the middle of the idahoan mountains, to investigate the disappearance of two fellow agents.
Why might a book not automatically make for good tv? Seriously, ethan spends the entire book either being drugged, beaten up, poked, prodded, and eviscerated for almost the entire thing all in order. If you happened to have watched the television show based on this series, you may already know where i’m going with this.
