The Toll Book Review. Naturally, the book’s tragic, dramatic high point deals with the main reason for that abrupt surrender: Since this is the third book in a series, i can’t give a synopsis without spoilers.
If you haven’t read the first two books, it would not be wise to read this review! Like liked by 1 person Action packed, thrilling, and surprisingly soul stirring — the toll by neal shusterman is a gripping conclusion to the arc of scythe trilogy.
I have to say, as weird as a story it is, i think the toll could be currently her magnum opus, despite its numerous flaws.
Although each entry in the book may address a few fun facts or provide a glimpse into traditional beliefs about each animal, toll’s writing really shines when discussing what life lessons a person can learn from these animals. The toll is the third book in shusterman’s arc of a scythe series. No one seems to have much time for or interest in romance. The way the characters develop throughout is believable and realistic.
