The Giver Book Series Review. Only one man, fierce einar, has climbed it. Author lois lowry invites readers to consider the pros and cons of jonas' community and imagine a life without highs and lows.
He was certain that jonas and gabe died at the end and the vision of a cozy, happy world was a dying dream since no two such different worlds could have existed in the same time period. The giver is not a christian novel, but if i was doing a review, i would be able to point out what a christian should learn from the story. Classics, young adult, science fiction, dystopia, childrens and middle grade.
The author also included a theme in the book to inform the reader a lesson or make a statement.
The giver is a young adult, science fiction following jonas as he was assigned to be the receiver of memory. The giver (i didn’t read this one this year, but could fit many categories), gathering blue (a book with a color in it), messenger (a book with an illness in it), son (a book with a relation in the title) I enjoyed the book and the book discussion with my son. In a radical departure from her realistic fiction and comic chronicles of anastasia, lowry creates a chilling, tightly controlled future society where all controversy, pain, and choice have been expunged, each childhood year has its privileges and responsibilities, and family members are selected for.
