The Best Of Me David Sedaris Book Review. The best of me still held new treasures for me to read, because i haven’t read all his books yet. The genius of “the best of me” is that it reveals the growth of a writer, a sense of how his outlook has changed and where he finds humor.
Little, brown, 388 pages, $30. I recommend listening to them if you can—his reading is as enjoyable as the writing. Me talk pretty one day was the first book of his that i read, and i quickly blew through his back catalogue at the time.
Even if you’ve read or listened to every word he’s ever written, it’s a terrific highlights reel and a chance to view the arc of sedaris’ development as a writer over 25 years.
