Kindle is similar only that you can add books to your amazon wish lists. Obviously you still have to pay for the books that you download (unless you're taking advantage of the huge amount of free stuff you can get for your kindle ), but you don't have to pay a thing for the app. Making for a good app to use for academic.pdfs and.epubs. The 32gb kindle is obviously geared more for people who listen to audiobooks as these take up more space.
