Unjustly, krakauer holds himself culpable for aspects of the disaster, but this book will serve an important purpose if it gives even one person pause before tackling everest. Krakauer doesn’t steer away from the controversy of the trip or the role he may or may not have played in the outcome. Book review “into thin air”.

It details krakauer's experience in the 1996 mount everest disaster, in which eight climbers were killed and several others were stranded by a storm.

Everest, saw nothing that suggested a murderous storm was bearing down. he was wrong. This is a great book, among the best ever on mountaineering. The reason it doesn’t receive full rating is because it might not be as interesting for people who dislike outdoors and climbing, but for most, this book is definitely worth reading.
