I Claudius Book Review. Before reading the sequel, claudius, the god, i will reread i, claudius because i am sure that i have forgotten many details in the book. Claudius, the god is, if possible, an even better book.
In the sequel to i, claudius, graves’ selective use of historical fact in the construction of the characters in his novel also affects his presentation of claudius. Selected as one of the 100 best novels of the 20 th century and a groundbreaking work of historical fiction, i, claudius is also plenty entertaining. A sequel, it carries on from where the earlier book left off, but it is complete in itself, and can stand on its own merits.
I think i prefer the t.v.
A book that some will read because they think it should be read, and will be pleasantly disappointed at finding it very entertaining, although not conventionally popular. Claudius suffers from many ailments that cause him to stutter and give him a permanent limp. Selected as one of the 100 best novels of the 20 th century and a groundbreaking work of historical fiction, i, claudius is also plenty entertaining. The entire book is really very interesting — claudius is constantly trying to reveal the truth, or just record it, while evading trouble, often by very narrow margins.
