Apparently kate was the only strong character in the first novel, because everyone (with the exception of her mother) falls apart in this one.

This book definitely pulls at your heart and leaves an impact. They are selfish and isolated and depressing. We’ll fly away follows best friends luke and toby living in their small north carolina town. It’s also about the pursuit of the american dream, offering glimpses into key events, trends, and cultural mores in our country’s history.
